Daniel Stewart-Roberts

Daniel is Chairman of WBC Training.  He is a Chartered Accountant and was for many years a partner with Deloitte in Hungary and elsewhere in Central & Eastern Europe, where he first developed an interest in training and development. He has also held senior finance positions in various publicly listed, private equity backed and private energy companies. He is currently Finance & Infrastructure Director of a UK based community not-for -profit. He holds a number of voluntary positions including Councillor of City & Guilds.

Angus Warren

Angus is the founder and Managing Director of WBC Training and delivers several of our training courses globally. Before setting up WBC Training, Angus had 15 years with BP in assignments that included gas exploration and production, oil pipelines, LNG and refining. Angus holds a BEng (Hons) in Chemical Engineering, an MSc in Technology and Management in the Oil & Gas Industry and an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin.

David Finlayson

David is Advisor to the Board and a Course Director for the company. With over 40 years’ experience in the energy sector, he has held senior positions at BP and its predecessor company Britoil, and founded a consulting company, JFA International, which was sold to IHS Global Inc.  He has lived and worked in in the UK, Europe, North America, South East Asia and Australia. He is also a former Deputy Chairman of Brunel University London, an Emeritus member of the Society of Exploration Geophysicists and a member of the Petroleum Society of Great Britain and is currently a lay member of Glasgow University’s “Court”. the Governing Body

Simon Philips

With over 30 years’ experience in business services sales and marketing, Simon has held senior positions at property company Grosvenor Group, UBS Investment Bank, DoubleClick and The Economist in the UK, Europe and Asia. He is also a director of Structured Marketing Solutions, and a Trustee of Stoll, a UK Veterans’ Housing charity.

Peter Smith

 

Peter has over 40 years’ experience in the energy services sector with a variety of positions in sales, marketing, line management and HR with Schlumberger in Europe, Latin America, Middle East, Africa and the USA. He is also a senior consultant for Qittitut – an upstream business strategy development consultancy, and is a member of the advisory board for IFOS, a California fiber optics sensing technology provider involved in energy, medical and defense sectors. He holds a BSC (Hons) in Physics and is an active member of SPE, SPWLA and PESGB.

Bob Laidler

Bob Laidler is a Course Director with industry experience that focuses on maximizing value through effective project governance.  As a consultant with Granherne, IHS and most recently Xodus he has gained significant insight into corporate oversight requirements, project management procedures, and investment decision making processes.  His work has taken him all over the world, including North America, Australia, Europe, Africa and the Middle East.  As he says, “Really effective project governance has never been more critical to industry, and is becoming ever more important to external stakeholders, investors and potential partners.”
